DART Taking One Step Closer To DFW Airport

IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) - If you have a flight out of Dallas/Forth Worth International Airport during the holiday season, you will now have another option for getting there.

The latest leg of DART's Orange Line is set to be open next week.

On Monday, Dec. 3, trains will be rolling into the Beltline Station in Irving. From there, DART will be providing shuttle service directly to DFW Airport.

"It will drop you off at Terminal A," says David Maganna, Public Affairs Manager for DFW Airport. "Most of our passengers fly American, so the check-in will be easy for 80 percent of people who use DFW."

If your flight leaves from the other terminals, Maganna says that you have two options.

"You can either check-in at A and go through security and then catch Sky Link, our internal train system," says Maganna. "Or, before checking in, you just take a Terminal Link shuttle bus that connects all of the terminals together."

The DART shuttle bus service that will be launched next Monday from the Beltine Station and DFW Airport replicates what the Orange Line will offer when it is complete. The permanent DART rail station is under construction at DFW Airport at Terminal A. Officials say it is due to go online in 2014.
