DART Passenger Films Fight Between Bus Driver, Rider
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A DART bus driver is under investigation and a passenger is in jail after the driver tried to wake the passenger.
DART Officials says the driver was trying to wake 23-year-old Gerrette Aboumrad Tuesday evening. Upon waking Aboumrad became irate and began yelling and punching the driver.
Another passenger started to record the fight on his iPhone, which shows the driver fighting back.
DART officials say they are looking into whether the driver's actions were warranted. Aboumrad was subdued when a DART officer arrived and placed under arrest. He has been charged with assault of a public officer and is being held on a $100,000 bond.
The bus driver is on leave until DART completes their investigation.
