Daniels Doesn't See Major Changes With Nolan
SURPRISE, Ariz. (105.3 THE FAN) - Following Jon Daniels' promotion from General Manager (a position he has held since 2005) to President of Baseball Operations for the Texas Rangers there was much speculation in the media that CEO Nolan Ryan may be on his way out of the baseball organization.
Many thought Ryan, in fact, could be gone by the time the team departs from spring training in Surprise, Arizona.
Jon Daniels spoke with 105.3 The Fan's RAGE saying that he still reports to Ryan and that "the day to day operations falls to myself and the Department heads. Nolan is the CEO, he reports to ownership and the board" and that he will "continue to involve...and solicit feedback from Nolan."

Daniels admitted that he spoke with Ryan following the announcement and that they "talked through it." Daniels thinks the changes that were made to solidify the current management set-up and exclaimed "as far as reporting structure or how things are going to be handled, I don't see anything changing dramatically."
