Dallas Teacher Sentenced For Sexual Behavior

MESQUITE (AP) - A North Texas jury has sentenced a 34-year-old former teacher to 15 years in prison for predatory sexual behavior.

The Dallas Morning News reports the Dallas County jury determined Andrew Scott Lott had repeatedly targeted female students. He was convicted of a felony count of improper relationship between educator and student. He was sentenced Wednesday and is eligible for parole in less than four years.

Lott had a sexual relationship with a high school student in Mesquite, just east of Dallas, in 2011. He earlier had made sexual overtures to other students while an educator at Dallas Academy.

He received national attention in 2009 as girls' basketball coach at the academy. His team lost a game 100-0 but was praised for continuing to play in light of the odds.
