Dallas Student Out Of Jail After Online School Threat

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A young man who has been accused of making a serious threat to shoot up his school is out of jail on Wednesday morning.
According to the Dallas Independent School District's police, authorities had arrested 18-year-old Everrick Murrell and charged him with making a terroristic threat.
Murrell has since bonded out of jail. He is a senior at the John Leslie Patton Jr. Academic Center in Dallas.
Investigators said that Murrell created a fake Instagram account, posted a threat and sent it to a teacher. That teacher told the school's principal, and the principal called the police.
Attention!! Tuesday 02/16/2016 I will be arriving to school at John Leslie Patton Jr. Academic Center with a GUN!! Ready to shoot any and all students who have bullied me and I am willing to shoot anyone who tries to stop me from accomplishing my goal. I just want to let all the students and faculty to watch there backs on Tuesday. Just know I won't stop at any means.
The threat was taken seriously, and officers arrested Murrell. Even though the young man did not have the means to carry out the violent act, a Dallas school district spokesman said that there is simply no place for these social media threats.
Murrell has been charged as an adult and could now face up to 10 years in prison. School officials have not elaborated on what disciplinary actions the teen could face with the Dallas ISD.
