Dallas Stars Sign College Star To 2-Year Deal
FRISCO (Sports Network) - The Dallas Stars announced the signing of forward Austin Smith to a two-year, entry-level contract on Wednesday.
Smith, a 23-year-old native of Dallas, posted 36 goals and 57 points in 39 games for Colgate this year, his senior season -- stats which allowed him to be named one of the 10 finalists for the Hobey Baker Award.
A right-handed shooter, the 5-foot-11, 180-pound Smith ended his college career with 79 goals and 160 points in 153 contests.
