Dallas Stars Kick Off Home Opener October 16th
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The Dallas Stars will kick-off their 20th NHL season in Texas, 46th year in franchise history, on the road against the Phoenix Coyotes on Saturday October 13th at Glendale Arena followed by a match with the Anaheim Ducks.
The Stars are slated to play their first home-opener of the NHL regular season against the Coyotes on Tuesday, October 16th at the American Airlines Center.

The team will celebrate 20 years in Dallas during the 2012-13 season with special events and commemorative merchandise, all honoring the team's past and present players.
The club will also wear a commemorative 20-year patch on its jerseys.
The 2012-13 regular season schedule will be a total of 82 games, with 41 contests at home and 41 on the road.
The home schedule features 20 weekend contests (5 Friday, 12 Saturday, 3 Sunday). Dallas will host five weekend matinees:
· Sunday, Nov. 25 vs. Los Angeles (2 p.m.)
· Saturday, Dec. 1 vs. Pittsburgh (1 p.m.)
· Saturday, Jan. 12 vs. Montreal (2 p.m.)
· Sunday, Feb. 17 vs. Calgary (5 p.m.)
· Sunday, March 3 vs. New Jersey (2 p.m.)
The Stars' longest home stand this season is 5 games, which will happen two separate times, the first being from Dec. 27-Jan. 8 (Columbus, Minnesota, Nashville, NY Rangers and Phoenix) with the second occurring from March 23-April 1 (Buffalo, Los Angeles, Detroit, Tampa Bay and Anaheim).
