The cigar-chomping, scotch-drinking satirist first rose to fame with Jeff Foxworthy's "Blue Collar Comedy Tour." Since then, "Tater Salad" (as he's known to his friends) has released two Grammy-nominated comedy performances and appeared in the films "Sex and the City 2" and "Horrible Bosses." He has also written a book based on his life. The Texas native brings his Moral Compass Tour home for four shows at the Majestic Theater this spring. You don't want to miss it.

Comedian Mike Epps made his start on the scene in the original "Def Comedy Jam," and his career's been going strong ever since. Returning to "Jam" as the host in the 2006 HBO revival, he also found popularity as an actor. You may recognize him most notably for his roles in "The Hangover," "The Fighting Temptations," and as Day-Day Jones opposite Ice Cube in "Next Friday" and its offspring "Friday After Next." No stranger to trouble, Epps frequently jokes about his troubled youth.

Addison Improv brings him to the metroplex for three days this spring. Known for great entertainment, the Addison Improv is the spawn of one of the biggest national comedy chains in the world, offering star power mixed with great food and service. it could be considered the Rolls Royce of comedy clubs.

Linda Stogner is an Emmy-award winning comedian and filmmaker who has appeared at the Last Vegas Comedy Festival, The Funniest Woman in America Contest and on the Joan Rivers Comedy Special. She is also co-owner of Backdoor Comedy Club, and as a featured performer, knows it's all about the show. Patterned after the tiny showcase comedy clubs of New York, the cozy venue only holds 75 people. But just because it's small doesn't mean you're getting budget comedians. Backdoor Comedy utilizes a rotating cast of professional entertainers, usually headed by Stogner. Even local comic Paul Varghese cut his teeth here before moving on to "Last Comic Standing 2" and Comedy Central's "Live in Gotham." Comedy megastars like Ron White and Kathleen Madigan have even been known to drop in when they're in town. You never know who you're going to see on stage, which adds to the fun.

If you like your improv fast and fearless, look no futher than Roadside Couch, Dallas Comedy House's own improv comedy sketch troupe. Scenes in each show are suggested by the audience, so you never know what to expect. And if you find yourself sitting there thinking "Hey, I could do this," then Dallas Comedy House is exactly what you need. Run by a rotating cast of comedic instructors, Dallas Comedy House offers a house-training center with classes in improv, sketch and production. Show 'em you've got what it takes and maybe you'll earn a place on stage next to the zany nuts in Roadside Couch. Dallas Comedy House has the cheapest live shows in town, and even offers a free open mic night.
