Dallas Robber Gets More Than 4 Years In Prison
DALLAS (AP) - A robber who tried to swap dye-stained cash after a Dallas bank holdup and later tried to escape has been sentenced to more than four years in prison.
A federal judge in Dallas on Monday sentenced 31-year-old Kenslesl Ambca Williams to 52 months behind bars. Williams earlier this year pleaded guilty to bank robbery and attempting to escape from federal custody.
Investigators say Williams on Jan. 4 robbed a bank, then hours later tried to exchange some of the stolen dye-stained bills at a pawn shop. Williams was arrested after suspicious store officials contacted authorities.
Williams the next day appeared before a magistrate and was ordered to remain in custody, but he ran out of the courtroom. Officers caught Williams in a hallway.
