Dallas Police Need Help Finding 20-Year-Old Murder Suspect

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - It was the night before Halloween when David McGary was shot and killed at a Dallas gas station.

After weeks of investigation police believe Edward Alberto Cancino is responsible for the shooting death. The 20-year-old has been charged with murder, but remains at-large.

Police say McGary was murdered at the Texaco gas station in the 3300 block of  South Haskell Avenue. Investigators say McGary, 21, was trying to buy marijuana from Cancino, whose identity wasn't known at the time.

The pair allegedly had an altercation in front of several people when Cancino pulled a gun. Police say they were later able to determine that McGary was running away from Cancino when he was shot. McGary was able to continue running, but collapsed on Beall Street. Cancino fled the scene.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of Cancino or any other suspect in a felony offense.
