Dallas Police Looking For Home Invasion Suspects
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Dallas Police detectives are investigating a violent home invasion.
The crime also included the sexual assault of a woman inside the home.
The attack occurred just after 6:00am in the 3700 block of S. Tyler in Oak Cliff. Neighbors inside the Carousel Court Apartments found police searching for evidence, and dusting windows for fingerprints.
According to police sources, two men wearing masks entered a first floor apartment. Inside, they sexually assaulted the mother of two children. Her 6 and 10 year old children were inside the apartment and held at gunpoint during the attack.
The woman's husband had left for work. Police say the men waited for the husband to leave the unit before the attack.
An upstairs resident, who declined to give her name, said the victim said the suspects assaulted her, then stole items from the apartment.
Residents of the apartment community knew little about the home invasion attack, but noticed the presence of police.
Neighbor Charlene Stone said her own window had been also been tampered with, but didn't know her neighbor had been attacked until she saw police. "I saw the police at her door, but I didn't know how bad it was," said Stone.
Karla Gomez believes the suspects may know the place too well. "They pulled out the window. They know the property. They know it."
Maintenance workers replaced the window suspects used to access the apartment Friday. No arrests have been made in the attack.
