DPD Officer Accused Of Sexually Assaulting 8-Year-Old

KAUFMAN (CBSDFW.COM) - CBS 11 News learned late Friday morning that Ryan Ramirez is the Dallas police officer under investigation for sexual assault in Kaufman County.
The alleged assault, involving an 8-year-old child, took place in mid-June.
The Kaufman County Sheriff's Office confirmed Thursday that they were conducting the investigation.
Officials say Ramirez, 33, is a friend of the victim's family. Sources told CBS 11 News the child is female.
Ramirez is currently on leave from the Dallas Police Department, where he works in the narcotics unit.
Officials in Kaufman County say no arrest has been made. The case has been forwarded to the District Attorney's Office and will be presented to a Grand Jury.
