Dallas Marketing Expert Transforms E-Commerce Companies

Playing college basketball at a small NAIA  school in Oklahoma during his freshman year, Bradley Wilson realized that he wasn't going to become an NBA player. He transferred to the University of Texas at Austin and earned a Bachelor's of Science in sports marketing, with the thought that he would be a general manager for a professional sports team. He interned for the Los Angeles Clippers, and realized that he wanted to pursue achievement in business beyond the world of sports. He knew he wanted to earn his master's degree in business, so he returned to Dallas and worked for an agency that had Pizza Hut as a client. Wilson enjoyed work that brought him closer to customers, and decided to work for JPMorgan [now JPMorgan Chase].

"Working for JPMorgan gave me true sales and service experience," said Wilson, who completed his Master's of Business Administration at The Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University and used that experience to become the senior manager of strategic alliances for Match.com and later served as director of marketing. "At Match.com, I learned internet distribution and economics."

Blockbuster Online was Wilson's next challenge as director of marketing and customer acquisition; and, in 2006, he led a team that increased membership from 1.1 million to 2.2 million customers. "Technology disrupted the entire movie and entertainment landscape, and we had to quickly understand in-store to online shopping and viewing habits," said Wilson.

Wilson moved to Nutrisystem and as senior vice president of Brands and Channels, he helped build a brand that ranked first among Food and Drug e-commerce companies by Internet Retailer. "In this role, we helped transform the company away from direct selling model to becoming a leading e-commerce brand," said Wilson.

At Travelocity, Wilson serves as the chief marketing officer and is in charge of brand stewardship, customer relationship management and revenue generation. "I am proud to lead a talented team that rejuvenated a great travel brand," said Wilson.

"Business school provides an environment where solving real-world challenges with diverse points of view is practiced. The ability to frame these challenges, simplify solutions and advance ideas through consensus-building and inspiration is becoming increasingly important in today's climate," said Wilson.
