DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A homeowner shot two suspects who police say broke into his home. One of the suspects, Keanu Wilson, 17, died at the scene.
The other suspect, Michael Jerome Allen, 18, was rushed to Parkland Hospital and is in stable condition. A third suspect ran off.
It happened in the 2400 block of Bickers St. around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
The homeowner told police he was notified of intruders inside his home by his security system sending an alert to his cell phone. He says when he got home he confronted three young men coming out his back door carrying his things.
Police say multiple witnesses along with the homeowner were brought to Dallas Police headquarters and cooperated with detectives in this investigation.
Michael Jerome Allen will be charged with Burglary of a Habitation and taken to the Dallas County Jail upon his release from the hospital.
Detectives continue to investigate and to identify the third burglary suspect who fled the scene.
