Dallas' Growth & Opportunities Reach Into The Real Estate Sector
The Dallas Fort Worth area has experienced record growth in business relocations, housing and jobs. To keep on top of that growth, industry leaders emphasize the need for job candidates to have a strong education.
According to the Texas Workforce Commission, 46,600 jobs were added across the state for the month of July. Texas' monthly average of 40,343 jobs is well above the national average of 27,520. Job growth projections over the 10-year period of 2012-2022 show Dallas above the average for the state and the country in annual wages.
The Federal Reserve Bank noted that job growth in Texas rose 4.5 percent in July with Dallas experiencing a 4.6 percent growth, which surpasses Austin and Houston.
Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of Research at the National Association of Realtors, Lawrence Yun recently visited Dallas as part of the Realtor University program. Realtor University provides continuing education for realtors. He remarked that the Texas economy is stronger than the nation's economy. He also noted that education is the basis for economic growth.
Candace Evans, a Dallas-area real estate industry expert, covers hot real estate topics on everything from design and staging of vacant homes, to the most sought-after home builders in town, to what neighborhoods are experiencing the fastest growth, and what's going on regarding zoning and development.
"From 2001 to 2011, 1.2 million people moved to Dallas County. With the growth of 10,000 people a month, we need to find places to house them," said Evans.
As companies take advantage of the moderate weather, tax incentives and open-to-build land, job growth will continue to grow in DFW.
