DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Thankfully, an accident involving a man in a motorized wheelchair and a fire truck wasn't as bad as it appeared.

According to Dallas Fire Rescue spokesperson Jason Evans, the accident happened just after 11:00.

Evans says the man in the wheelchair pulled into a street crosswalk just after a fire truck began making a right-hand turn at the intersection of Central Expressway and Forest Lane.

The crash was very low-speed because the fire truck stopped almost immediately. "The driver had just taken his foot off the break when he realized the chair was in his path," Evans explained. "It bumped and tilted the chair. He fell to the ground."

No one in the fire truck was injured. The man in the wheelchair was taken to an area hospital after complaining of leg pain, but his injuries aren't serious.

The incident is under investigation.
