Dallas Family Makes It Out Of Burning Home Uninjured

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A Dallas family made it safely out of a burning home Sunday morning.

The fire started in the early morning hours at a home in the 8700 block of Lake June Road in Pleasant Grove.

According to Dallas firefighters, two adults were able to make it out of the home safely, but three children remained inside.

The father of the three children tried to go back in the home for his children, but was stopped by firefighters.

Dallas firefighters were preparing to rescue the children, but the children made it out on their own, unharmed.

The oldest child, an 11-year-old, was able to guide the two other siblings -- 7 and 8 -- out of the home safely.

According to fire investigators, the fire began in an attached garage that had been converted into a storage and laundry room.

The fire damage was contained to the laundry room and the adjoining room inside the house.

Investigators determined that the cause of the fire was accidental and began as the result of an unspecified malfunction of the dryer.
