UPDATE (May 27, 2016) -- On April 28, 2016 a Grand Jury returned a "No-Bill" vote and accordingly, while arrested for Sexual Assault, Dr. Ouyang was never legally charged with any crime.
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM/Jan. 14, 2016) - A Dallas emergency room physician named Dr. Da Ouyang was arrested yesterday and charged with a sexual assault that happened last October.
An employee of Emergency Medical Consultants, Dr. Ouyang worked in emergency rooms all over North Texas.
The physician owned and operated group Dr. Ouyang works for provides emergency room physicians for a number of area hospitals.
Listings for Dr. Ouyang connected him to service at Dallas Parkland, Children's Health and Texas Health Presbyterian in Kaufman.
Police said Dr. Ouyang and his alleged victim were aquainted but not in a relationship. DNA evidence recovered from the victim confirmed the identity of Dr. Ouyang, according to police.
Experts said there's still a stigma attached to such assaults; as though there are 'degrees' of rape. It's one reason, experts said, 64 percent of assaults are not reported and 84 percent of women who are raped know their attackers.
"It is not only far more common, but is the common way that people get sexually assaulted," and expert told CBS News. "But, isn't it easier to believe that a Charles Manson type has raped someone as opposed to your next door neighbor, Mr. Smith, who's a nice guy?"
Dr. Ouyang was released from the Lew Sterrett Justice Center this morning on a $100,000.00 bond.
