FRISCO (105.3 The Fan)  - Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee has been nominated for the 2016 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award, an honor that recognizes a player on each of the 32 teams who "has had a significant positive impact on his community.''

Three of the 32 nominees will be chosen as finalists, with the winner announced on Super Bowl Eve, Feb. 4 during a nationally televised NFL Honors show. The winner will receive a $500,000 donation to the charity of his choosing along with an addition $500,000 donation in his name being given to the league's newest charitable initiative with United Way, 'Character Playbook'. Fans can be involved, too; the player who receives the most hashtag mentions on Twitter will receive an additional $25,000 donation for the charity of his choice.
