DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Josh Brent will take the field and play with the Dallas Cowboys as the team takes on the Chicago Bears Thursday night.
The team says Josh Brent will suit up for the first time since he was involved in a deadly drunk driving wreck that killed teammate Jerry Brown in December 2012.
"He is one of the strongest on the line" said Cowboys owner Jerry Jones prior to the beginning of the game. And with both teams expecting to establish the run - it's just another key reason to have Brent back.
Brent was convicted of intoxication manslaughter in January 2014.
This is the first time Brent will play since that happened. He was allowed to stand on the sidelines at AT&T Stadium the weekend after the deadly crash.
