Cowboys Head Coach Reacts To Hardy Tweet
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Greg Hardy said he was saying goodbye to Twitter, after a tweet referencing 9/11 -- and the Dallas Cowboys head coach is talking about the controversy.
Friday night, Hardy responded to a Carolina Panthers fan who tweeted a picture of Carolina's two tall receivers with the caption "Twin Towers." Hardy tweeted "didn't the twin towers get blown up lol"
He quickly deleted the tweet and apologized on Twitter. "For a comment that mentioned an event where no reference to humor is okay...," he posted.
On Sunday, Hardy tweeted good bye forever - making it seem that his days on Twitter are over. But he didn't close his account with nearly 13 thousand followers. Instead, he started retweeting other people's comments to and about him.
Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett responded to Hardy's Twitter activity, "I think its important to have great discipline with that. I am not someone who's on Twitter. I understand that a lot of people are and that's part of the fabric of our culture these days. I think it's important for guys to use in the right way. We try to emphasize that to our guys. Distinguish yourself with your play and not what you say."
Hardy is in the process of appealing his 10-game suspension for the 2015-2016 season related to a domestic violence case out of North Carolina.
