DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - In a seven-hour stretch Thursday morning, Dallas County Deputy Reade Denny assisted in about 20 stuck driver incidents.  CBS 11 saw him and a colleague push a car that had spun out on some ice.  The pair got the driver unstuck.  By late morning, conditions were much better but far from perfect.

"It's still extremely icy out right now... the temperatures haven't raised enough. Some of the surface is melting, but it's still re-freezing underneath it," said Deputy Denny.

CBS 11 say several other Dallas County deputies along I-30 near Fair Park helping folks out.  One crew used shovels to break away the ice around a U-Haul trailer that was stuck.

Dallas Police tell us some of their officers spent three hours helping stranded drivers when things started to get really bad Wednesday night along I-35 and Zang Boulevard.
