Dallas-Based 7-Eleven Unclear Why Company On NRA List
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A list that groups together 7-Eleven, Levi's and Bob Barker, is gaining new scrutiny during the debate on guns.
The National Rifle Association published the list on its website in September of groups, companies and celebrities that endorse or support anti-gun positions.
A spokesperson for Dallas-based 7-Eleven said the company has been aware of the list for years, after customers called angry at the company for being listed on it. The customers were told that the company doesn't take a position on guns.
7-Eleven says it has not been able to get an explanation from the NRA as to why it's on the list, or had any luck being removed.
One business source said there was some thought that a company that prohibited employees from carrying weapons at work might make the list.
Churches, sports teams, greeting card companies and actors all hold a place on the list.
