Dallas Bar Bans NFL To Protest League's Domestic Abuse Stance
DALLAS (KRLD) -- A Dallas bar owner is taking a stand against the NFL, pledging not to show any games this season in response to the league's recent domestic abuse incidents.
Jack Mac's Swill & Grill in far north Dallas announced the decision on Facebook on Monday:
Good Evening Folks, Running a bar in Texas is not the easiest thing in the world, especially when it comes to football, so I hope you will all take the stand with me, as of today, we will no longer show ANY NFL games until the league changes it's domestic abuse policies. It has gotten to the point where money is more important than women's and children's health and life are concerned [sic], this is unacceptable in the world that I want to live in. Please join me in my small attempt to stop adding fuel to the fire and money to their coffers. #takeastand #NFL #nomoresbuse
"I'm not trying to make a statement," said Jack MacDonald, the bar owner. "I'm just a guy that's doing what he believes in."

But MacDonald is also realistic. While the decision will be applauded by some, it could have an adverse effect on his bottom line.
"Whenever you tell someone you're not going to be able to watch football in Texas in a bar, you'll take a hit. We'll take whatever we take."
The NFL has been under fire for its handling of Ray Rice, who was caught on video hitting his then-fiancee. His initial two-game suspension has now been extended indefinitely,
The latest controversy involves Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, who has been indicted on child abuse charges in Montgomery County. The NFL and the Vikings have announced that Peterson is expected to play on Sunday.
