DALLAS (AP) — Dallas-based Heritage Auctions plans to sell what's touted as the first recording contract signed by the Beatles.
According to the auction house announcement, the document, part of the Uwe Blaschke Beatles Collection, is expected to sell for $150,000.
The sale is scheduled Sept. 19 in New York City. Spokesman Eric Bradley says buyers will also be able to bid online.
Heritage Auction officials say Blaschke's collection tells the story of the Beatles through original photos, documents, autographs and memorabilia. The lot has more than 300 items, especially related to when the Beatles were in Hamburg, Germany, in the early 1960s.
The collection features a vintage snapshot of 17-year-old George Harrison modeling a leather jacket and an autographed copy of the group's first EMI single, "Love Me Do."
