Police End Amber Alert But Still Searching In Child Death Investigation

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The Dallas Police Department is searching for a Christopher Anthony Garcia in connection to the death of a 3-year-old Wednesday afternoon.

Garcia is described as a 24 year old male, 5'9", 170 lbs. and two tattoos on his left arm, the Dallas skyline and a footprint. He also has the Michael Jordan logo tattooed on the back of his neck.

Garcia is believed to driving a white 1998 Ford F-150 with a Texas license plate AC49232.

The 3-year-old boy died at Dallas' Methodist Charlton hospital Wednesday afternoon.  When officers arrived at Garcia's girlfriend's apartment in the Red Bird neighborhood, they discovered Garcia had taken two other children with him.

Garcia was believed to have a 4-year-old boy and an 8-month-old girl who are siblings and children of Garcia's girlfriend.  Garcia is the biological father of the 8-month-old.

Around 9:30 Wednesday night the two children were delivered to a Dallas Police Department station by three adults.  It is unknown how the three are related to the children or Garcia.

Both children are said to be in good condition and are being taken to the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center.

Garcia's last known location was 7301 Chaucer Place around 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.  Dallas Police say he was also spotted in the area of 3600 block of Legendary Lane in Dallas at 3:00 p.m.
