DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle may find out as early as Friday whether or not he will face domestic violence charges.

A spokesman for Sedgwick County District Attorney Marc Bennett, in Kansas, told CBS 11 News that Wichita police will present their case to the DA on Friday morning.

The DA may make the decision Friday to file charges against Randle. If so, Randle could be making his first appearance in court on Friday afternoon.

Earlier this month, a judge signed a temporary restraining order against Randle after an incident at a hotel in Wichita. Randle's former girlfriend accused him of waving a gun toward their son and smashing a car window while the toddler was inside.

Randle's attorney denied that his client pulled a gun.

Police initially filed a marijuana possession charge against Randle, but dropped that charge as detectives continued the domestic violence investigation.

A hearing on the temporary restraining order that was scheduled for Thursday has now been delayed until next month.
