Cuban Says Durant Has 'Backed Off' 1-On-1 Challenge
DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) -- Kevin Durant was selected to his sixth All-Star game last week, despite missing over half of his team's 53 games this season.
The reigning NBA MVP took exception to those who doesn't think he's deserving of playing.
"Whoever want my spot can play me one-on-one for it," said Durant.
Mark Cuban accepted the challenge, noting that he's "beaten" All Star Dirk Nowitzki before in a 1-on-1 game.
Cuban joked with Shan & RJ on Thursday that the 6-foot-9 forward has failed to accept his challenge.
"He's backed off. He's not willing to play me," said Cuban. "I don't blame him."
Cuban jokingly wondered if Durant is scared of the challenge.
While Cuban likely won't be receiving an invitation to New York, Mavs forward Dirk Nowitzki will make his 13th appearance as an injury replacement for Anthony Davis.
"I'm kind of bummed it wasn't Monta. I think Monta's really been our best player this year so far," said Cuban. "Monta or Tyson or Dirk -- all of them would have been deserving. It's really good to see the old man keep his streak going."
