Cuban Gives Additional $100K To Sandy Relief

NEW YORK (CBSDFW.COM) - The Dallas Mavericks suffered defeat in their visit to New York City last Friday. But Mavericks' owner Mark Cuban made sure he left an impact on a city still feeling the devastating effects of Superstorm Sandy.

According to a report by the New York Post, Cuban donated $100,000 to help residents of Far Rockaway, a neighborhood in the New York City area of Queen.

The Post reports that Cuban made the donation to aid in the efforts spearheaded by Knicks reporter Jill Martin, a friend of Cuban's. The efforts were focused on a local Church of the Nazarene in need of food and baby essentials.

Cuban reportedly wrote a check on the spot after bumping into Martin.

The report comes just a week after Cuban pledged $1 million to support Sandy relief efforts.
