HOUSTON (CBSDFW.COM) — Ahead of Super Tuesday and the Texas primary, Ted Cruz has released four years' worth of tax returns — making for a total of nine years released — and called on Republican frontrunner Donald Trump to do the same.
Cruz released his tax returns for 2011 through 2014 and previously released returns for 2006 through 2010 while running for Senate, his campaign said in a press release Saturday.
Cruz also pressed Trump to release his returns, which Trump said during Thursday's debate he couldn't do until the IRS finishes auditing him. The campaign's release said the IRS later issued a statement saying, in part, "Nothing prevents individuals from sharing their own tax information."
"It is time to stop the excuses," Cruz said in the release. "Donald Trump owes it to the American people to be fully vetted, and that includes releasing his tax returns so the voters can see the full financial picture."
Trump's tax returns and questions about his personal wealth have been points of interest throughout his campaign. The Republican nominee in 2012, Mitt Romney, recently suggested a "bombshell" may be lurking in Trump's returns.
Below is a breakdown of Cruz's most recent returns, provided by his campaign:
