Crash Pushes Car Into Home In Dallas
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - An ugly crash shoved a red Mercedes-Benz into the front wall of a home in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas early Wednesday morning. The incident happened at about 4:00 a.m. along South Ewing Avenue, near the intersection of Illinois Avenue. It is not known if anyone was injured during the crash.
The Mercedes-Benz actually belonged to the people living in the home. The car was parked in the driveway. Another vehicle came crashing through the front yard, slamming into the Mercedes-Benz and spinning it around, forcing the rear portion of the car into the front of the home. Meanwhile, the other vehicle continued across the home's front yard, coming to a rest on the opposite side.
In addition to the massive damage done to the house itself, a chain fence outside of the home has been destroyed in two places and trees in the front yard are scratched up. The vehicle responsible for this crash was towed away from the scene, while the red Mercedes-Benz still rests crashed into the home.
The American Red Cross said that six people were inside of the home at the time of the crash, including some children. Everyone has left the scene, however, it is not known if anyone -- the six people inside or the other car driver -- was injured during the incident.
This home happens to be located along a DART bus route. Passengers coming past the scene are turning to glance at the wreckage. Officials from Dallas Area Rapid Transit have been stopping by the home to make sure that buses are still able to travel past smoothly and safely.
