Cowboys 'Working On Names' At MLB?

DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - The Cowboys will continue to have to answer outsider questions about Rolando McClain until he leaves. They will continue to grapple with those questions inside the organization, too, what with their middle linebacker's 10-game suspension looming and players like Detroit Lions veteran linebacker Stephen Tulloch being released and becoming available.

Tulloch led the Lions in tackles for 2015 with 107 but is coming off injury and is 31. He has substantially more skins on the wall than all the other candidates to replace McClain (maybe combined). Those candidates: Anthony Hitchens, Andrew Gachkar, Damien Wilson and Mark Nzeocha.

I'm told there is no buzz inside the building at this time regarding a Dallas pursuit of Tulloch, though do know that cap space is not an issue if the Cowboys don't want it to be; they have about $6.6 million of cap space remaining and it can be earmarked for exactly this sort of move as training camp begins at the end of July and progresses through Oxnard.

In fact, Bryan Broaddus of 105.3 The Fan notes that management is "working on names'' of other candidates, feeding a fun parlor guessing game for fans who wonder, for instance, if a return engagement for, say, Justin Durant, might be due.
