Cowboys Work To Finalize Staff

IRVING (CBSDFW) - The Dallas Cowboys' search for a secondary coach includes a trio of veteran names: Tim Lewis, Steve Brown and, maybe most notably, Mike Nolan.
105.3 The Fan has confirmed visits with Lewis (a former NFL defensive coordinator not retained by new Niners coach Chip Kelly) and Nolan (a former Niners head coach whose father, Dick, was also an NFL head coach and once a Dallas assistant). ESPN reports that Titans assistant Steve Brown has interviewed, as did former University of Miami head coach Al Golden, who has taken a job with the Lions.
The search is on for a replacement for Atlanta-bound defensive backs coach Jerome Henderson, and that could include an expanded role for present Dallas safeties coach Joe Baker.
There are a handful of other staffers presently working without contracts but no major changes are expected. Tight ends coach Mike Pope, 74, has been away from the team for personal reasons and could be contemplating retirement.
