IRVING (105.3 THE FAN) -  The Dallas Cowboys could afford Josh Norman, if they chose to get in on the $15-mil-a-year bidding for the free agent Pro Bowl cornerback.

But they choose not to, Cowboys COO Stephen Jones says, because they're "uncomfortable'' with the price tag.

"Josh Norman is a great football player," said Jones during an interview Friday with G-Bag Nation on 105.3 The Fan.

"But at the end of the day, you've got to fit the skill level and where you think he would perform for us with the cap and the financial deal. That's what we would consider, and obviously we have some high-paid football players on this team. ... My understanding as to where the finances may be on Josh right now are probably past where we're comfortable with."

Norman's tag was rescinded by Carolina this week, putting him on the market, where the Redskins are reportedly a prime suitor.
