Cowboys Show 'Juice' In Squeezing Miami

ARLINGTON (105.3 THE FAN) - Next week at Seattle is Preseason Game 3, the as-always "dress rehearsal'' for Dallas' regular season.

But in Friday's Preseason Game 2, the Cowboys looked dressed to kill.

"No disrespect to the Dolphins, but did you see our sideline?'' Dez Bryant told me enthusiastically after the Cowboys' 41-14 win at AT&T Stadium. "That's planned. We got juice!"

That was true of Dallas' first-team offense, led by Dez, QB Tony Romo (4-of-5 passing in two series) and Alfred Morris.

It stayed true when Bryant and Morris teamed with rookie sensation — yes, he's a "sensation'' now — Dak Prescott to pour it on. Bryant had two catches for 46 yards and a TD from Prescott.

Morris rushed 13 times for 85 and scored on a 15-yard sprint. And Prescott essentially ended questions about whether Dallas should trade for a Romo caddie after Dak completed 12 of his 15 passes for 199 yards and accounted for a quartet of TDs, two of them via his running.

"Each day the games will get tougher because you move on here,'' Romo said. "Dad knows that. Dan knows that. And he knows hes playing great right now I suspect he'll continue to do that.''

Prescott did essentially the same thing last week when he started in a loss at LA, and yes, it will get tougher. But maybe this defense can be a playmaking group good enough to hold up its end of the bargain, which was certainly the case here against Miami.

The Dolphins' Arian Foster rushed twice for minus-five yards. Ryan Tannehill threw a pair of TD passes but Dallas recorded a trio of sacks of Miami QBs, one Shaneil Jenkins, Kyle Wilber and Tyrone Crawford all getting a piece of the action that centered largely on back-seven play from Sean Lee, Orlando Scandrick and Mo Claiborne.

In general there was, as Dez told me, "juice.''

"There was certainly a good spirit and a good energy to our team tonight,'' coach Jason Garrett said. "We played with intensity.''

And with offense. And with defense. And with "juice.''
