Cowboy Santas Toy Drive December 11 & 13
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Come join CBS 11, TXA 21, the Texas Rangers, and Fox Sports Southwest as they collect toys to benefit Cowboy Santas on Tuesday, December 11 and Thursday, December 13 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
New, unwrapped toys and books will be collected for Tarrant County children in need at both drives. Tuesday's event will be held at the Ballpark in Arlington in the center field Vandergriff Plaza area.
Thursday's drive will be held in downtown Fort Worth Sundance Square, near the Christmas tree at 3rd & Main.
CBS 11's Larry Mowry will broadcast live throughout the events, and Texas Rangers pitcher Derek Holland, who also serves as honorary spokesperson for the event, will be on hand to sign autographs. Several other current and former Rangers players are expected to attend as well.
"The Texas Rangers are proud to participate in the 2012 Cowboy Santas Toy Drive," commented Rangers CEO and President Nolan Ryan. "This is a most worthwhile endeavor that will help make the holidays brighter for a number of Tarrant County youngsters."
The Cowboy Santas program, founded in 1981, is headquartered in Fort Worth and serves all of Tarrant County. Last holiday season, Cowboy Santas provided toys for more than 12,500 children from more than 5,000 families.
Families must have income at or below 150% of the Federal Income Guidelines to qualify and children must be 12 years old or under.
