Cowboys Ready For Training Camp In San Antonio

VALLEY RANCH (CBSDFW.COM) - After months of wondering, waiting and negotiating, it is finally time for some football!

Dallas Cowboys Training Camp begins on Wednesday in San Antonio. Many of the team's players and coaches are already headed south to the Alamodome to hit the field and get ready for the upcoming season.

Some players arrived in San Antonio on Tuesday, excited to start playing again. "Glad to be back," said Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin. "Get ready to see the guys and get back in the swing of things. Get ready."

Workers at the Alamodome were in a rush on Tuesday afternoon to get the facility ready for Cowboys training camp. They painted the field, prepared the locker room and dusted off the training equipment.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and the team's head coach, Jason Garrett, are scheduled to host an opening press conference on Wednesday afternoon. The annual pep rally will not be held this year. Players officially hit the field on Thursday morning with a walkthrough and practices.

The public is welcome to attend those team practices, which start at 2:30 p.m. each day. Admission is free, but parking costs $10.

And, of course, if you cannot make it to San Antonio to watch the Cowboys practice, you can always get the latest updates on CBS 11 News and 105.3 The Fan, the official TV and radio homes of the Dallas Cowboys.
