Cowboys To Open Preseason In California

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - As part of the Cowboys move back to Oxnard, California for training camp this summer, the team will play its first two preseason games on the West Coast.

Dallas opens its exhibition slate on Monday, August 13 in Oakland against first year Head Coach Dennis Allen's Raiders.  Allen is a Hurst L. D. Bell High School and Texas A&M graduate.  That game will be nationally televised on ESPN and can also be heard locally on 105.3 The Fan.

The Cowboys will conclude the California portion of the pre-season the following week in San Diego against Norv Turner's Chargers.

Quarterback Sam Bradford and the St. Louis Rams will come to Cowboys Stadium in week 3, and the Cowboys will host the Miami Dolphins in the pre-season finale.

The exact dates and times of the final three exhibition games have yet to be announced but, in all likelihood, the final preseason game against the Dolphins will take place on Wednesday, August 29, in order to give the Cowboys a full week to prepare for the regular season opener.

Dallas opens the regular season on Wednesday night, September 5, at the defending World Champion New York Giants.
