Cowboys No. 3 RB Choice Seeks Breakout Vs. Colts
IRVING (AP) - Running back Tashard Choice is likely to be part of the Dallas Cowboys' game plan this week, just like he's been waiting for all season.
Choice has only 14 carries through 11 games. That's expected to change against Indianapolis because starter Marion Barber is dealing with a calf injury that kept him out of practice again Wednesday.
Choice thought he proved himself by averaging 5.3 yards per carry and 8.8 yards per catch over his first two seasons. So, why has he become a forgotten man?
Team owner Jerry Jones says it's because Choice isn't doing enough on special teams, a requirement for all backups trying to move up.
Coach Jason Garrett says it's because Choice is simply the third option and the first two have remained healthy.
