OXNARD, Calif. (105.3 THE FAN) – The Cowboys continue to endure "scares'' in the injury department but have good news on both All-Pro offensive lineman Zack Martin and first-round rookie defensive back Byron Jones.
"Just a little scare, but everything is fine,'' said Martin after watching the Thursday morning training-camp walk-through. "It's definitely a learning experience there.''
The experience: Sustained a stinger in his neck after absorbing a blow to the head on Tuesday in practice against the Rams.
Martin figures to miss a few more days, including Sunday's preseason game at San Francisco. That goes for Jones, too, who also attended the walk-through and told me that his shoulder "feels good'' and that in fact, contrary to reports, he never left camp for a second opinion; the Cowboys have simply sent his MRI results off for that double-check.
Tony Romo is healthy and attended the morning workout but did not participate. Dez Bryant (hamstring) was part of of the a.m. session but will not practice fully this afternoon.
