FRISCO (105.3 THE FAN) - The Cowboys practice on Wednesday featured the offensive return of tackle Tyron Smith, the defensive return (to hopefully full-time status) of Orlando Scandrick and some cautious optimism regarding Tony Romo, Dez Bryant and Dan Bailey.
That trio of Pro Bowlers did not open at practice. But Romo (back) is about to increase his throwing. Bryant (knee) may be closing in on being "very limited" at a practice, an upgrade from where we were a week ago. And Bailey (back) seems to be improving enough that Dallas may not need to stage kicker tryouts in anticipation of Sunday's visit from the Bengals.
*The Cowboys' emergency kicker? Safety Jeff Heath.
Smith, yet another offensive Pro Bowler, has missed two games, and the timing of his return is helpful because his back up, Chaz Green, is sidelined with what 105.3 The Fan is told is a foot strain.
Tank Lawrence is also practicing with the team for the first time as his drug suspension has been served.
