Cowboys Going Home, Still Far From Done With Camp

SAN ANTONIO (AP)  The Dallas Cowboys are going home after two weeks in the Alamodome. They are still far from finished in training camp.

Coach Jason Garrett put the team through a walkthrough in San Antonio on Wednesday morning before breaking the first part of camp. Dallas plays its preseason opener against Denver on Thursday night at Cowboys Stadium.

The Cowboys had 13 days of practice while in San Antonio.

After the first preseason game and then a day off Friday, the Cowboys will spend two more weeks in training camp mode at home. They will work out primarily at Cowboys Stadium and stay at a nearby hotel.

Defensive end Marcus Spears says it's just a transition period in camp and there's still a lot of work to be done.
