Cowboys G Waters Likely Out For Season
IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) -- The battered Dallas Cowboys are absorbing another injury blow as guard Brian Waters is likely out for the year due to a collection of injuries including a triceps problem.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones delivered the news Tuesday morning on 105.3 The Fan's New School with Shan & RJ.

Waters, 36, started the past five games at right guard after signing a one-year deal with the Cowboys on Sept. 4.
In Sunday's loss at Detroit, Waters – who the Cowboys believe was playing at a level that might put him in the conversation for a seventh Pro Bowl appearance -- injured his knee, ribs and triceps. It was initially hoped that the triceps injury would mean a two-week absence. But now Dallas prepares to hand the right-guard job back to veteran Mackenzy Bernadeau, the incumbent before Waters' signing.
Waters will return to the starting lineup, and Jones said the Cowboys will look to their practice squad for depth. They released guard David Arkin on Saturday and signed him to the practice squad Monday.
Bernadeau, who signed with Dallas during the 2012 offseason, had started 19 consecutive games for the Cowboys.
What will Dallas miss without Waters?
"Maybe as much as anything else, it's his demeanor,'' coach Jason Garrett said Monday, before the severity of the injury was known. "He's a guy that plays the game the right way. He's physical. He's tough. He knows what to do. He plays with a little bit of an edge to him, and that's a positive thing.''
But now the 4-4 Cowboys have to deal with yet another serious injury. And that's a negative thing.
