Cowboys Fans Call For Change After Thanksgiving Loss
ADDISON (CBS 11 NEWS) - Dallas Cowboys fans are a little jaded after Thursday's loss to the Washington Redskins.
The 'Boys were down 28-3 at the intermission, and though they made a game of it in the second half, they still lost 38-31.
Today, on the radio and at sports venues, fans weighed in on the loss, many demanding changes.
On the Cowboys flagship radio station, 105.3 The Fan, hosts Mike Fisher and Mike Dingess took calls from folks looking for some changes.
"I think even the most passionate Cowboys fans, the most devoted ones, recognized that on Thursday they opened the roof on Cowboys Stadium and then later in the day closed the season, the Cowboys' season," said Fisher, who added, "It always goes owner, coach, and quarterback; it's not always fair, but that's football."
"It's a lot of negativity," echoed Dingess adding, "The Cowboys fan today? They're down. It's a literal Black Friday for the fan because they disappointed yesterday."
They fronted their program at Duke's Roadhouse in Addison, where fans expressed their thoughts to CBS 11 News. "It's frustrating. We want to love them and support them and they make it really hard for us to do that sometimes," said Jamie Vaughan of Carrollton who added, "I think it starts at the top and trickles on down. I'd like to see Sean Payton as the coach."
Her friend, Angie Spangler, wants to see more consistency from players. "If they put the last quarter in the first quarter I think we'll win," she offered.

Theresa and Mitch McCullough make the Thanksgiving pilgrimage to Cowboys Stadium every year from Wichita, Kansas. "I think the coach is doing okay but I don't think they all play together as a team like they used to," said Theresa.
Mitch agreed. "In my opinion the changes should be more on the team than the coach."
So what's the answer for the 5-6 Cowboys?
"A new owner," laughed Spangler, referring to owner and GM Jerry Jones.
That is unlikely to happen, offered "Little" George Goodenow of Dallas. "He's the owner and general manager and you can't fire him unless he fires himself."
But Dan Robbins of Plano thinks that's exactly what's needed. "Jerry Jones needs to step down as general manager and let somebody else run the team," he said adding, "I'm not against the current coach that he has but he needs a coach that can kick butt. And he hasn't had anybody that can do that since Jimmy Johnson and since Barry Switzer."
Meantime, owner Jerry Jones told CBS 11 Sports Director Babe Laufenberg that he has "zero interest in making a coaching change."
