'Cowboys Club' In Frisco Sells Out Memberships

FRISCO (105.3 The Fan) - Jimmy Johnson is wrong for accusing the Dallas Cowboys of running a "country club'' ... unless he's talking about fan accommodations at the new "Cowboys Club in Frisco,'' where all 800 of the initial memberships that allow fans unique access to the team's headquarters - The Star in Frisco - have sold out.

Membership in the club for access to the team's still-under-construction facility costs a family/corporate group a one-time fee of about $4,500, plus $350 a month. The facility is scheduled for completion in August, and while the Cowboys will do their football business there, the access to hotels, restaurants and shopping do indeed make it a "country club'' atmosphere.

The Cowboys Club in Frisco now has a waiting list and may expand membership. So down on the multiple fields at the new complex, football will still be football (whether ex-coach Johnson likes it or not.) But upstairs? That will indeed feature a "country-club atmosphere.''
