Cowboys Back To Work After Memorial Service

IRVING (AP) - The Dallas Cowboys returned to practice Wednesday, a day after a memorial service for practice squad member Jerry Brown.

Brown was killed in an accident involving friend and teammate Josh Brent, who police say was driving drunk.

Fullback Lawrence Vickers, whose locker is next to Brent's, says the Cowboys are there to support Brent, who won't play again this season after being placed on the reserve/non-football illness list and faces an intoxication manslaughter charge.

Vickers says the team was comforted by Brown's mother, who told the players to focus on what they have to do.

The Cowboys (7-6) play at home Sunday against Pittsburgh.

Brown's corner locker remains untouched. His helmet hung on a hook below a shelf with several pairs of cleats.
