Court Hearing In Sanders Divorce Proceeding Underway
COLLIN COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) - NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders has arrived at the Collin County Courthouse and so has his wife, Pilar Sanders. They arrived separately for a hearing in their ongoing divorce proceedings.
Deion arrived at the courthouse house alone. Pilar arrived with her two attorneys, Pete Schulte and Larry Friedman.
The woman who witnessed the altercation between Mr. and Mrs. Sanders, at their home in Prosper last month was also at the courthouse. Three police officers from the Town of Prosper responded to the emergency call.
Those arriving at the courthouse for the Thursday hearing would not comment on their testimony in the case.
As the hearing got underway there's was a motion by Deion's legal team to close the courtroom to the public.
During the hearing the judge is expected to examine the protective order issued against Pilar, as well as address accusations that Deion has violated the gag order issued in the case.
In addition, Deion has been charged with criminal mischief in connection with the alleged destruction of a cell phone owned by his wife's friend.
Thursday CBS 11 News had exclusive video of the damaged phone that police now say is considered evidence.
Pilar Sanders has been charged with assault in connection with the altercation at their home.
