Councilman's Son Up On Dope Charges

The 19-year-old son of Richardson City Councilman Amir Omar is facing marijuana charges following his arrest on Sunday. Javid Omar was pulled over on a traffic stop when the officer noticed what he thought was the smell of marijuana in the car. The car was searched and police found about two ounces of marijuana. Omar remained was taken to the Richardson city jail Sunday morning to wait for a court appearance and a bond hearing. The misdemeanor charges could result in six months in jail or a fine of up to two-thousand dollars.
