Cotton Bowl Classic Draws Thousands Of Aggie & Sooner Fans
ARLINGTON (CBS 11 NEWS) - More than 90-thousand loud fans watched the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic from inside Cowboys Stadium.
The rivalry between these two former Big 12 teams is intense and heated up with fans well before kickoff.
But the party wasn't just inside the stadium.
Plenty of fans stood in the party plaza just outside the stadium to watch the game on big screen TV's.
Other fans pitched their tents, brought their own big screens and comforts of home.
"We're number one!" a crowd of Aggies yelled.
Most of the tailgaters outside Cowboys Stadium were Aggies fans. They had food. They had drink. One Aggie even brought a portable bar. Chandler Hodo said it belonged to her dad.
"My dad and a couple of other local businesses built it and own it," she said.
They had heaters. They had fire. They had Johnny Football. They were stoked.
Some were outside because they said they couldn't afford the price of a ticket tonight inside.
Leonard Luna said he tried to buy tickets. But they cost "about 500-dollars," he said.
Others were outside because they said they wanted to be.
"I bought my wife tickets, let her go inside. I like the view from here," said Lorin Kieschnick, another Aggie Fan.
