PLANO (1080 KRLD) - The Plano man whose homemade bomb went off in his face while trying to blow up a gas line has lost another round in court.

Convicted gas-line bomber Anson Chi has yet to convince the courts someone is trying to kill him in custody.

At first a Federal judge dismissed Chi's claim that government agents are trying to inject him with lethal chemicals while he's in jail. Now a federal appeals court has not only upheld the judge, it has warned Chi he only has one more appeal left.

Former US Attorney Matthew Orwig says Chi has made mistake after mistake since deciding to represent himself.

"He can only go down from here" said Orwig. "He can only worsen his situation - as he has apparently done all along the way."

A federal judge could sentence Chi to life in prison next month for trying to use a home-made bomb to blow up a gas main in Plano three years ago. The bomb went off in his face.
